John and Ellen; McCain on the Topic of Gay Marriage...

I think the author, Austin Hill, is exaggerating McCain's discomfort in handling Ellen DeGereres persistence on this issue, however, you can click the link later in the article and judge for yourself...
"Appearing on the syndicate “Ellen DeGeneres Show” last Thursday, McCain showcased himself , his presidential candidacy, and his good-natured sense of humor before Ellen’s nationwide daytime television audience.

Unfortunately, the only portion of the program that got attention beyond its original “airing” was the very few minutes that Ellen quizzed McCain about homosexual marriage - - the “elephant in the living room,” as she called it. And these few moments were some of the most awkward McCain moments I’ve ever seen.
Editor; personally I think this is overblown...
Let’s understand who we’re talking about. This is a man who honorably fought against communism in Viet Nam; survived two airplane crashes and a collision with power lines; had his aircraft shot down by a missile over Hanoi; was severely injured and given minimal care in a hospital where he wasn’t expected to survive a week; was then put in solitary confinement for two years; and after that, began a “program” of severe beatings, rope bindings, and other methods of torture. This is an extraordinary man who has always “survived” - - always - - and is even “hip enough” to mix it up and garner lots of laughs on “Saturday Night Live.”

Yet McCain appeared awkward addressing the subject of “marriage” with Ellen.
I played audio portions of the interview on my radio show in Washington, DC, and I can attest that the video looks worse than the audio sounds. But regardless of whether one watches or listens, there are a few things to be learned - - for the McCain campaign, and for all Americans - - from this brief dialog." I think McCain handled it well. Imagine an older guy like him having to deal with this issue. Frankly, I think he was just embarrassed by having to deal with the issue. Click the link to read more...

Liberals and Gas; What's the Connection?

Turns out, it's NOT all about supply and demand. If you dig deeper, there's a liberal strategy behind rising prices at the pump...
"Spending $60, $70, even $90 for a fill up at the gas station is fun right? When it comes to crippling, racist, and economically debilitating energy policy liberals have truly paralyzed America. And they seem proud of their efforts. In the left's refusal to allow us to seek new energy sources they are stunting a nation's economy, they are hurting the average family, and they are starving hungry children.

They also have the gall to do all of this under the guise of feigned outrage at oil companies in addition to self-superior Senate floor speeches where they rage against the administration. They also express abject resentment towards anyone who dares to mention the obvious - that it is their policies that put us in this mess to begin with and disallows our escape from it...

The real pinch that you feel at the pump exists for multiple reasons. Nearly all of them the fault of liberals." Townhall.com::Like Your $5 Gas?::By Kevin McCullough

I remember growing up that 'Laugh In' was pretty funny and racy stuff. Funny how people in my generation STILL allude to the style and the humor...

The Detergent Church | Doug Giles

Gee, Doug -- how do you really feel?
"I was being interviewed on talk radio a couple of weeks ago when the “talent” turned the discussion to my faith and my thoughts on the state of the Church in America. I’m sitting there thinking, “You invited me on your show to talk about school violence and student stupidity, and now we’re talking about Jesus? Okay, whatever. God is one of my favorite topics, and as long as I get to plug my latest book, A Time to Clash, 757 times in the next 15 minutes, I’m good.”

So, I informed my host that my faith was stonkin’ and in my humble—yet acerbic—prophetic opinion I thought a good chunk of the American church was melting like a little Twinkie under the hot sun of assertive secularism.

In particular the church was wilting like a wuss in regard to its biblical moral maxims and its stance on essential Christian doctrines and was thus well on its way to living La Vida Apostacia. Yep, if our country goes down the crapper, a lot of the blame falls on the American church for capitulating to this crap-addled culture, as far as I’m concerned." API Chief Economist "Where’s the Border Fence?" | CFIF.org

"It’s been several months since Congress authorized the building of the border fence along portions of the U.S. Southern Border. But, according to recent news reports, little to no progress has been made on the fence.

In addition, a collective group of cities, counties and economic development councils joined together under the title of the Border Trade Alliance and filed a class action lawsuit seeking an injunction to stop construction on the border fence. The lawsuit claims that the Department of Homeland Security violated numerous laws and constitutional provisions to acquire land and build the fence.

Colin Hanna is President of Let Freedom Ring, a non-profit, grassroots public-policy organization that has as its mission to promote “constitutional government, economic freedom and traditional values.” Mr. Hanna has been a strong supporter of border enforcement and opponent of illegal immigration. He oversaw the project “We Need a Fence.”" Click the title to read the full article online...
